According to a recent article published on AzCentral.com they City of Phoenix officials will be increasing their false alarm fees.  Smoke detector false alarm fees alone will increase to $105.  First time offenders have the option of attending a class to erase their first citation, a second offense will result in a fine. 

 The week of October 31st 2009 the fire department reported over 170 false alarm fees within a 12 hour period.
